General Statement of Duties    The Young Eagle Society (YES) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and promoting the YES Grant – College Readiness through Education – in alignment with the vision, mission, and core themes of Blackfeet Community College. This position supports pathways to higher education by fostering relationships between Blackfeet Community College, Heart Butte High School, and Browning High School. The coordinator will advance the College’s mission to provide quality education that promotes individual and community growth and uphold its vision to honor the past and shape the future through lifelong learning rooted in Blackfeet values.
In this role, the coordinator will integrate the College’s core themes—Vision, Mission, and Core Themes into all program activities. Responsibilities include developing and sustaining dual enrollment opportunities, coordinating work-integrated learning (WIL) placements, mentoring students, and facilitating culturally responsive programming that strengthens academic readiness and personal development. The coordinator will serve as a bridge between students, schools, and the College to ensure that program goals are met and that students are empowered to pursue higher education and careers in education.

Qualifications    Preferred Qualifications:
•    Associate’s degree in Education or related field (required)
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (preferred)
•    1-2 experience with grant-funded programs or college readiness initiatives (preferred)
•    Previous experience with dual enrollment or workforce development programs (preferred)
•    Experience working with youth or education programs (preferred)

The YES Coordinator position requires a high level of coordination, communication, and cultural understanding to successfully connect multiple educational institutions and stakeholders. The role involves balancing administrative responsibilities, student mentorship, and program development while aligning activities with the vision, mission, and core themes of Blackfeet Community College. The coordinator must demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving skills to manage diverse tasks such as student recruitment, dual enrollment support, work-integrated learning coordination, and event planning. This position requires working independently and collaboratively, often during evenings or weekends, to ensure that program objectives are met and that students receive consistent and meaningful support.
 
Personal Contacts Has to contact with personnel in all departments, students, Board of Trustees, Blackfeet Tribal departments and programs staff, and other related entities and persons that are necessary to contact to conduct the day-to-day business operations of the Education Division. 
Physical Demands Work performed in a standard office/classroom environment. Everyday demands of office/classroom work are applicable. Walking, standing, and sitting at a desk are required. Some lifting, i.e., books, equipment, and other miscellaneous materials will be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
